Origonally released through "the dark thursday"
"bananas is a high gain, effect heavy guitar jam.
Not a jam in the sense of avant or brutal prog, or in the sense of a garage jam band, but a solo noise set almost. At points the tones like that of a cement saw then they sweep into a synthesized oscillation.
Granite's playing is pretty constant and continues to move throughout the piece, it doesn't really let up at any point and keeps this well away from your more conventional harsh noise in a wall sense, considering the extremities that the pedals spit out in keeping up with the playing.
At points you can hear the pedals being pressed which really adds to the lo-fi jam quality of the whole track. Being able to hear some of the room this was recorded in also helps in that regard.
Over all a very nice step in Granite's discography and well worth a listen.
